MC there is no community college in Grand Prairie, Mountain View and TCC in Mansfield are the closest Colleges to us. North Lake is about 15 miles straight up Beltline in Irving. I am really thinking about starting some plan to put pressure on the city to consider these things.

Thanks MC you guys {Dave} are better than a History book... You gave me the name I was looking for (Texas Motor Coaches ). Your point is well noted " Grand Prairie is not Brooklyn" which is where I was born. That statement made me rethink and put things in perspective. Grand Prairie at least needs some lines going to the community colleges, I think they would be profitable.

Thanks your response seems to be the most reasonable answer I have come across. Hope your wife can remember what bus she took in the 60's. Now G.P. mayor says it will bring more people in the streets. I say they are walking and riding bikes now in the streets. There is a lot of industry here so what you said makes a lot of sense. Thanks again.

All I can find out is in July 1902 Interurban Trolley started service in Grand Prairie (formally named Dechman) and there also was a Train Depot on main street across from where the reopened Up Town Theater is today, The train depot was serviced by Texas and Pacific Railraod. I find no information on when these services stop, however I know for a FACT there is no Public Transportation in Grand Pr

who remembers when Interurban trolley had street cars going thru Grand Prairie and Pacific Railroad had a Train Depot (station) on main street? When did service end and why. Any and all input is welcome. Even if it is just a story from the past. thanks

I saw your post from June. I am doing research on public Transportation in Grand Prairie TX. I was wondering if you have any info on when and why the Interurban trolley stop running in Grand Prairie years ago. Also if you had any info on the Train Depot that was here many years ago.. thank you
