On this date (February 22) 2008 a wife lost a husband, his two sons and two daughters lost a father, his mother lost a son, his five sisters and one brother lost a brother and Dallas lost a Police Officer.

Senior Corporal (Motorcycle Assignment) Victor Antonio Lozada Sr., Badge Number 5761, age 49, died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Senior Corporal Lozada, operating a Dallas Police motorcycle, was involved in the escort of four vehicles connected to the election of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for President of the United States.
The motorcade was en route to a campaign event to be conducted in Oak Cliff and was entering the Houston Street Viaduct from Young Street.

The motorcycle escort was utilizing the high speed leap frog procedure and Senior Corporal Lozada entering a sharp curve on the viaduct, lost control of his motorcycle colliding first with the curb, then continuing onto a sidewalk and colliding with the concrete bridge railing at which time he was ejected
from the motorcycle, continuing approximately 100 feet.

Senior Corporal Lozada was transported to Methodist Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Senior Corporal Lozada’s family knowing he would wish to continue helping others donated his organs for the transplant program.

Senior Corporal Victor Antonio Lozada Sr., a twenty year veteran of the Dallas Police Department is interred at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery, Dallas, Texas in the Garden of Honor Section.
