Was there once a drive-in about where the Kip's location was at Hillcrest & Northwest Highway?
Pre-Kip's, that is.

yes there was a drive-in located at the Northwest corner of NWHighway and Hillcrest

The PBS News Hour had a piece last evening about folks going to drive in theaters again (the few left) because other entertainment is scarce now. Included was a bit of drive in theater history. There was a shot of the old Chalk Hill Drive In Theater in Oak Cliff, pre clown picture (star instead) like in Paula's article. I was quite surprised. The shot was not credited, and the reporter did not say where the theater was located or when the photo was made.
