Ketch'em and Kill'em on Kiest

Who remembers this emporium where hunting, fishing, and camping goods were sold? It was a rather large outfitter, as I recall, and was quite popular with the outdoors oriented crowd, back in the fifties and sixties. I believe it closed during the eighties. I have no idea how long it had been in business. I suppose modern big box stores put it out of business.

I recall a rather amusing incident relating to the store sometime in the sixties. Reportedly, there was a late night burglary at the Oak Cliff location. The police dispatch alerting patrol vehicles to the crime and its scene allegedly reported the address followed by the business name, Ketch'em and Kill'em. However, the way the dispatch was worded was something like, "Two intruders at .xxxx Kiest Boulevard. Catch 'Em and Kill 'Em." Folks listening in by scanners, and in particular a visitor from out of town sitting in at radio station KLIF with the guy monitoring police dispatches were quite shocked at this evident enthusiasm of the Dallas police for prosecuting its responsibility to protect property. I believe there was a small scale national response to the incident.

Doe anyone else remember this?
