I remember the Texas Teahouse in the mid-70s…a Willie Nelson-type venue. It was somewhere off of Lovers Lone or Lemmon. Also, The Cave, owned by Jim Batchler, it's still there, I think. Jim

The Caboose was one of my favorite places. There was a bartender named Marilyn and she had a sign that said something like this ain't Burger King and you can't have it your way. I went to Gertie's too.

That's funny, my best friend back in the day married a bartender at the Caboose named Marilyn. Wait a minute... are you Susie that used to run with Gina?

I played at many of the old bars and jazz clubs around Dallas, (1963-1974 +/- ) I remember playing at the Tabu a few times... (Anybody remember "Gringos"? Cedar Springs @ Oak Lawn, I think? Back around 1967-68?)

Anyway, I was cleaning out a shelf the other day and found an original menu from the TaBu Room, ca, 1970? (8oz Filet Mignon $2.25, hamburgers .50cents; beer 60cents, "setups... .35cents" (no drinks))... I PDF'd it, and would love to upload it or send it, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that. If there is a place where memorabilia can be uploaded, let me know...

I was friends with the band members from Lynx. Jimmy Wallaces old band. My girlfriend and I would drive to Gerties from OKC to see them when they were not playing in Oklahoma.
