Another question from Dallas Street Dept. archives. Where was Turney Street. I can't find it on any current map. I think it was somewhere near St Anne's School.
P.S. I am a retired faculty member of UT S'western Med. Sometime in the early 70s our Department [Psychiatry] had a secretary - Chris Brockles. I am fairly certain she was from the resteraunt family.

Forgot to mention [!] these photos of street "opening and widening" are from 1940.

The street sign says Turney AVE. [not St.].

From Jim Wheat's site, regarding changes of street names that occurred in 1911:
MASTEN
(beyond Wichita [northwestward] changed to Turney ave.)

But then what became of TURNEY AVE.?

Seems like we had someone else asking about relatives and a home along Turney. We identified it as being about where the triangle (once the used car lot of the Olds dealer) is now at McKinnon and Pearl, on the little hill near St. Anne's. I can't find that post, however. Most of the streets in that area (the hillcrest along McKinnon/Harry Hines/Tollway entry) have been obliterated in the rerouting of all that loop.
