It's not too late to register for this year's
Legacies Dallas History Conference. The conference will be held this Saturday, January 27, in the 7th Floor meeting room of the Erik Jonsson Central Library in downtown Dallas.
This year's theme is
Dallas on the Move, and the presentations relate to transportation subjects. There will be sessions on deadly Dallas traffic, the history of the North Texas interurban railways, Braniff's effect on Dallas, DART subway planning, and the effect of transportation on two Dallas ethnic neighborhoods. The capper, though, is a one-on-one conversation with Dallas history-maker George Schrader.
Details of the program and a registration form can be found at [

Here's a bonus: Dallas Public Library is holding it's annual used book sale the same day on the first floor. Thousands of books---including Texas and Dallas histories---will be on sale at fifty cents to three bucks.
