Jim, are there "criminal aspects" related to the Belmont that you are aware of? I believe it was long ago called the Belmont Motel, then became a Howard Johnsons, or some other national chain (which one has a sleep walking bear in pajamas as a logo?). After that, it was just an eyesore for a long time before the current iteration. Certainly, there has been plenty of crime in the vicinity back in the day, but I am not aware of anything of particular note associated with the Belmont. Clyde Barrow is buried just down the street, and Lois Green was taken out a few blocks away.

I guess what I meant would be placards denoting the colorful history of the neighborhood.. Jim
